  • how did hoyland start?

(It's an old family name, ask me for the scandalous backstory!)

Financial recruitment in the 90s was hard-core and this is where my work ethic comes from. I studied English (in Wales, ironically), and then lived and worked in London. My clients included CIBC, Scotiabank, Barclays and LSE.

At the end of 1998 I packed my bags and set off around the world in search of adventure. I still believe travel is important: I love experiencing other cultures and landscapes, the energy and variety feed my creativity.

When I returned from my travels, I worked in marketing and then property. In 2001, I was headhunted to build and run a lettings business for Hampshire's leading property company. It was profitable within the first year of trading.

In 2014 I joined an online conveyancing services firm. I started as a territory sales manager, was promoted to key account manager, strategic business developer, supplier manager then product sales and marketing.

Hoyland Marketing was created, like so many good ideas, after redundancy. I saw a gap in the market helping businesses make sense of marketing; cutting costs and increasing profit by creating plans and structure for development.
